Hey again guys! Today I am in my glory. I woke up checked my mail tracking info and immediately discovered that my Ipsy bag was waiting for me at the post office. I jumped out of bed threw on some clothes, stuck a bandana on my head, put on some shades and ran out the door to grab my little pink mailer. I am so impatient when I know that shipping has started and I am most definitely like a kid at Christmas when that package comes. I have a feeling this review might be a little lengthy as I took some pretty good photos of the products with my new gift from my hubby *smiley giddy girl* 🙂 Anyway, moving on.
So I get my little package home and spastically open it to get to the “Bohemian” themed makeup bag. Now can I just say that out of other two Ipsy bags I’ve received, this is by far my favorite in the way of the look of the actual bag! I love the different colors mixed with the hemp making the bag. It is so cute and most definitely fits me and my personality perfectly.
So lets talk the contents of this month’s bag shall we? I open up my bag and received five products this month. First Essence Lash Princess volume mascara, Theorie Argan Oil Ultimate reform Hair Serum, Jorel Parker Roll on Perfume, The Balm Cosmetics Nude Dude mini nude eyeshadow in the shade “Fit”, and lastly in the bag I got Starlooks mini lip gloss in the shade “Cuddle”. There is the list of the received products, now I am thinking it is time to move onto my thoughts of each product.
So I am always excited to try new and different mascaras to make my eyelashes look more full and plump as well as lengthened. I look for the falsie look for my eyelashes as falsies and I haven’t been able to get along…….ever. I opened up the Lash Princess mascara and pulled the wand out and let me tell you, this wand is really snake-like to be able to coat your lashes properly. Oh, and the packaging of this product is so cute its black but the lines and writing are pink! My two favorite colors and its pretty, very feminine and girly, but not crazy girly if ya get what I mean. Ok, after putting this mascara on it made my eyelashes kind of clumpy, it wasn’t too much clump just enough as opposed to other mascaras I have tried that I never ever touched again. This one is most definitely going into my purse make-up bag arsenal I want to get a little closer with this product and see what happens in the future between it and I 🙂
Moving on, the Argan Hair Oil I initially had issues with trying to get the product out haha. Not a word of a lie I had a fight with it. As soon as you open the top there is a plastic piece that looks kind of like a nozzle where the product is supposed to come out. Well, it wasn’t working for me so I tried taking that little nozzle piece off (which does come off) however, I have gel nails and for anyone who has had gel nails before or even have them now you know how thick they are and how difficult it is to work with them. I ended up having to take a pair of tweezers to slip under the edging to pull up. After that process I was at least able to finally try the product and oh my gosh the smell of this product is amazing. Oh an FYI I am a huge sucker for smells, I love smells (good ones obviously) haha. I have only used this product once and in all honesty I have not noticed a difference yet (aside from it makes my hair smell great). Again this will have to be one of those products I keep using over time and do another review later on down the road.
Now that the FYI has been made this Perfume. I have a certain smell that I am drawn to when I am looking to try new smells for myself. My honest initial reaction to smelling this perfume the first time was really hesitant at first, because it was just something totally different than wh
at I am used to. After smelling it a couple more times and wearing it on my wrist for awhile, I have actually warmed up to it and really don’t mind it at all. The scent reminds me of spring, but in a sort of girly way. It almost reminds me of Vanilla Musk but much much less strong and potent of a smell. So basically my opinion on this one is that it is going in my makeup bag in my purse and shall come with me everywhere. As long as over a period of time it does not give me migraines (which it hasn’t so far, thumbs up) it shall be on my favorites list.
I was super stoked to find out that I was receiving a product from The Balm Cosmetics. I have always wanted to try their stuff. This is the most adorable little sample shadow I have ever seen! I love it! It is a little book and the front page packaging is magnetic so it re-closes and nothing gets into your shadow or damages it. Genius I must say. Nude Dude Eyeshadow in the Shade “Fit” is almost like a coppery rose color. I love this color it is very pigmented on its own and with eyeshadow primer even more so. It has a shimmery finish to it and quite honestly looks gorgeous on blue eyes I tried it out this morning and it looks amazing. This one will definitely be ordered and added to my arsenal when my little sample runs out.
Lastly, the StarLooks lip gloss, honestly not a fan of lip glosses to begin with. My hair sticks to my lips they feel tacky and sticky and it really bothers me. I did, however, figure out a way to kind of make it work without having my entire lips covered with sticky gloss. This specific shade is called “Cuddle” it is a coppery rose color as well with shimmer. I like the color, I have always loved bronzes and browns for my lips so I paired this with my CoverGirl colorstay lip stain and clear coat, I only put just a little bit of the Lip Gloss on the middle parts of my upper and lower lips then covered it with the CoverGirl clear coat and it hasn’t bothered me since.
