Herbal Essences Wild Naturals Rejuvenating Hair Treatment System

Hi there Beauties!! Before I get into this review I am going to tell you a little bit more about myself and my hair. I have been dying my hair for as long as I can remember and I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw my natural hair color on all of my hair. I get as far as seeing the roots and dye it again……bye bye roots. Anyway so between chemically processing and constant heat damage from my straightener, my hair as put up with a lot of crap from me. Quite honestly I need to really try to find a really good heat protectant for my hair. So at the end of October of 2014 my boyfriend had noticed I was missing a patch of hair right on the top of my head!! I couldn’t believe and was so upset about it that I called my mom, (as she has had the same problem) so long story short I have alopecia (hereditary from mom). I have been taking Biotin daily, Iron supplements, and I have been using Nioxin Hair Care products, because my mom has swore by them since she was nine years old. It has made such a difference, I Mean my hair doesn’t grow a tonne but with it now being the end of April, my hair has grown about two and a half inches. With all that being said I am forever looking for hair products that make my hair softer (from all of the heat and chemical damage) and restoring products (for my alopecia).

I got the opportunity from Herbal Essence to try/test this product in return for a review. I will declare right now and at the end that *THIS IS 100% MY OWN OPINION ON THIS PRODUCT*

Alrighty so here we go. This product is made with hand harvested Cassia that nurtures and strengthens your hair against damage. It also features the essence of exotic Turkish fig that indulges your senses. Let me just say I Love the smell of this product and look forward to washing my hair with this stuff. I haven’t really honestly noticed a difference in the rejuvenation area of my hair but let me tell you that my hair is ridiculously soft after washing conditioning and using the hair oil that came with it!!

After about a week of using this product I fell in love with it and had to go out and buy the full size of the shampoo and conditioner because that is just how much I actually loved it. I am not big on the whole over promoting something that I don’t like so this is most definitely a win for me.

Review: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear – Loose Powder

Hello again beauties! Guess What?

I’m back again with another review!

This time it is on Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder. I was out and about and have been looking at the Brand, and more specifically, the product. I have never messed around with loose powders at all and this specific product has on the box “Foundation Coverage” which was right up my alley because its spring and warming up and so far tinted BB creams just aren’t doing it for me. I seem to break out with which ever product I choose (only two so far) but I finally decided I was going to take the plunge into loose powders that double as a type of foundation.

So lets talk about the packaging shall we? The box it comes in its very simple, yet professional and to-the-point. The front of the box says “Talc-Free Mineral” which means that it is very less likely to have that cakey look on your skin. On the side of the box it says “For extra sensitive or breakout-prone skin!” which again I tend to get random pimples in messed up areas of my face so I’m thinking this is going to be a plus for me. Now the actual product packaging is this innovative little mechanism…..haha look at me sounding all scientific and such 🙂 The lid pops off, and under it is a little haired brush to use with the product and it has its very own little clip to keep it in place when not in use. So you take this brush out the clip, you turn the whole thing upside down and dispense the powdered-product into the convenient sifting tray. You open the lid-thing that the brush was clipped to and there is your product in the sifting tray ready for use. I thought it was pretty nifty, less mess that way. 🙂

Now how about the description on their actual website?

  • For extra sensitive or breakout-prone skin!
  • Minimalist formula helps reduce irritation and breakout.
  • Offers the performance and coverage of a foundation with the blendability and natural finish of a loose powder in one easy step.
  • Innovative sifter lid helps contain mess.

The claims made on this specific product: ~Hypoallergenic ~Fragrance-Free ~Oil-Free ~Gluten-Free ~Dermatologist Approved ~Non-comedogenic (which means: the product does not contain ingredients that are known to clog pores.) So in other words it is less likely to cause acne. That being said, however, skin is highly individual and what works for one person may not work the same for another.

When I first tried this product I used the brush contained…..bad idea. I found that this brush is way to harsh for my skin and after applying I was very sensitive under my eye area. I washed my face and tried again with my own powder brush and it was much nicer. It applied flawlessly and blended in with my natural skin gorgeously.  I was very impressed with the coverage. My own personal skin is very combination (fairly normal everywhere, a bit of extra oil on my chin and upper T-Zone and usually normally dry on either sides of my nose) so I did apply moisturizer before applying the product. So if you are fairly dry I would recommend moisturizing first.

The first time I tried this product I moisturized and applied a primer but I noticed that after a while my pores on my nose turned really dark and I noticed them right away so the times after that I skipped the primer and it was perfect. As far as breaking out with pimples I have been using this product for about a week now and I there are no breakouts whatsoever.

All in all I am thoroughly impressed with this product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a very lightweight (foundation coverage) mineral powder!

Review: Garnier Clean + Impurities Eliminating Scrub

Hey there again lovelies!!! Today’s review is going to be one of my favorite finds thus far. Garnier Clean + Impurities Eliminating Scrub.

I came across this little gem one day when I was impulse buying (which my boyfriend says I am great for) 🙂 I had seen a little travel case thing with little sample size toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner etc. It was small and adorable so I decided to grab it and take it home. I cannot buy something new without testing it the minute I walk in the door at home so I saw little sample packs of the face scrub (and I loove face scrubs!) so I washed my face.

When I read the packaging It says unclogs pores and clears complexion it has charcoal and is for oily skin. Now I personally don’t have super oily skin, but I do have combination skin so I figured it would work ok for my skin.  On the back it says “Gel Exfoliator with micro beads deeply cleans, tightens the look of pores and smoothes skin”. It also claims that the “formula infused with charcoal draws out impurities such as oil and dirt, like a magnet” . I have to say they didn’t lie when they claimed any of the above. After the first wash I noticed a difference in the feel of my skin. It felt so smooth and soft to the touch and it felt like my skin was tighter.

When I ran out of my two little sample packs I had to have more. I looked at the same place I bought the travel pack (Wal-Mart) and the one in my little city didn’t have any at all. I was super bummed out, so I had to wait. About a week ago my hubby and I and the kids took a road trip to the next biggest city about three hours from here and low and behold I tracked it down in the Wal-Mart there!! I was so excited to have found exactly what I was searching for! Oh, in the process of searching in my Wal-Mart I thought I found the right one because the packaging 2was the same turned out I accidentally bought just the regular gel. My boyfriend wanted to try it out because he has bad acne due to super oily skin and he has been using it religiously he notices a huge difference as he has been struggling with his acne for years.

So from the both of us this product most definitely gets two thumbs up. I am so happy that I was an impulse buyer that day or I wouldn’t have come across this wonderful gem of a find!!

Let me know what products work best for you and what you love in a face scrub!! Thanks for reading beauties!

April 2015 Ipsy Bag Review

Hey again guys! Today I am in my glory. I woke up checked my mail tracking info and immediately discovered that my Ipsy bag was waiting for me at the post office. I jumped out of bed threw on some clothes, stuck a bandana on my head, put on some shades and ran out the door to grab my little pink mailer. I am so impatient when I know that shipping has started and I am most definitely like a kid at Christmas when that package comes. I have a feeling this review might be a little lengthy as I took some pretty good photos of the products with my new gift from my hubby *smiley giddy girl* 🙂 Anyway, moving on.016

So I get my little package home and spastically open it to get to the “Bohemian” themed makeup bag. Now can I just say that out of other two Ipsy bags I’ve received, this is by far my favorite in the way of the look of the actual bag! I love the different colors mixed with the hemp making the bag. It is so cute and most definitely fits me and my personality perfectly.

So lets talk the contents of this month’s bag shall we? I open up my bag and received five products this month. First Essence Lash Princess volume mascara, Theorie Argan Oil Ultimate reform Hair Serum, Jorel Parker Roll on Perfume, The Balm Cosmetics Nude Dude mini nude eyeshadow in the shade “Fit”, and lastly in the bag I got Starlooks mini lip gloss in the shade “Cuddle”. There is the list of the received products, now I am thinking it is time to move onto my thoughts of each product.

So I am always excited to try new and different mascaras to make my eyelashes look more full and plump as well as lengthened. I look for the falsie look for my eyelashes as falsies and I haven’t been able to get along…….ever. I opened up the Lash Princess mascara and pulled the wand out and let me tell you, this wand is really snake-like to be able to coat your lashes properly. Oh, and the packaging of this product is so cute its black but the lines and writing are pink! My two favorite colors and its pretty, very feminine and girly, but not crazy girly if ya get what I mean. Ok, after putting this mascara on it made my eyelashes kind of clumpy, it wasn’t too much clump just enough as opposed to other mascaras I have tried that I never ever touched again. This one is most definitely going into my purse make-up bag arsenal I want to get a little closer with this product and see what happens in the future between it and I 🙂

Moving on, the Argan Hair Oil I initially had issues with trying to get the product out haha. Not a word of a lie I had a fight with it. As soon as you open the top there is a plastic piece that looks kind of like a nozzle where the product is supposed to come out. Well, it wasn’t working for me so I tried taking that little nozzle piece off (which does come off) however, I have gel nails and for anyone who has had gel nails before or even have them now you know how thick they are and how difficult it is to work with them. I ended up having to take a pair of tweezers to slip under the edging to pull up. After that process I was at least able to finally try the product and oh my gosh the smell of this product is amazing. Oh an FYI I am a huge sucker for smells, I love smells (good ones obviously) haha. I have only used this product once and in all honesty I have not noticed a difference yet (aside from it makes my hair smell great). Again this will have to be one of those products I keep using over time and do another review later on down the road.

Now that the FYI has been made this Perfume. I have a certain smell that I am drawn to when I am looking to try new smells for myself. My honest initial reaction to smelling this perfume the first time was really hesitant at first, because it was just something totally different than wh

at I am used to. After smelling it a couple more times and wearing it on my wrist for awhile, I have actually warmed up to it and really don’t mind it at all. The scent reminds me of spring, but in a sort of girly way. It almost reminds me of Vanilla Musk but much much less strong and potent of a smell. So basically my opinion on this one is that it is going in my makeup bag in my purse and shall come with me everywhere. As long as over a period of time it does not give me migraines (which it hasn’t so far, thumbs up) it shall be on my favorites list.

I was super stoked to find out that I was receiving a product from The Balm Cosmetics. I have always wanted to try their stuff. This is the most adorable little sample shadow I have ever seen! I love it! It is a little book and the front page packaging is magnetic so it re-closes and nothing gets into your shadow or damages it. Genius I must say. Nude Dude Eyeshadow in the Shade “Fit” is almost like a coppery rose color. I love this color it is very pigmented on its own and with eyeshadow primer even more so. It has a shimmery finish to it and quite honestly looks gorgeous on blue eyes I tried it out this morning and it looks amazing. This one will definitely be ordered and added to my arsenal when my little sample runs out.

Lastly, the StarLooks lip gloss, honestly not a fan of lip glosses to begin with. My hair sticks to my lips they feel tacky and sticky and it really bothers me. I did, however, figure out a way to kind of make it work without having my entire lips covered with sticky gloss. This specific shade is called “Cuddle” it is a coppery rose color as well with shimmer. I like the color, I have always loved bronzes and browns for my lips so I paired this with my CoverGirl colorstay lip stain and clear coat, I only put just a little bit of the Lip Gloss on the middle parts of my upper and lower lips then covered it with the CoverGirl clear coat and it hasn’t bothered me since.019

The Newest Genius that is BlendIt Beauty Brushes

Ok let me start off by saying, about six months ago I knew nothing about proper make-up blending techniques until I started watching YouTube videos. I started getting the hang of blending my shadows to make it look well put together and no harsh lines. With that being said I still wasn’t a professional by any means and I am still not however, I am still practising and learning and becoming better every day.IMG_2676

When I saw on Instagram one day that there was a new set of make-up brushes being launched I was all over that like white on rice I never really did understand the meaning on her website http://blenditbeautybrush.com/ when it said flexible brushes until I received my first one which was the Pink Fluff Shadow Brush.IMG_2679

Now let me just start with the packaging when I first got it: it was in the cutest little pink necklace box with personalized handwriting from Celebrity Make-up Artist, Lisa Gibson herself! Inside the box was a nice little folded up piece of paper with instructions on cleaning and taking care of your brush.IMG_2677

I picked it up out of the box and realized what she meant about flexible. The absolute best way I can describe the hand crafted handle is a plastic bendy clear straw with little beads in it. There is a RED GRIP BEAD system in the handle and the red bead is where you are supposed to hold the brush (based from her experience) a person can alter where they hold it for their own personal comfort.IMG_2678

When I first used mine I could not believe how effortless it was to apply and blend my shadow. It was like the brush was doing all of my work for me! I was hooked I had to have more! So three more were added to my collection this morning a Flat Foundation Brush, a slant (angled) liner brush, and a fine tip eye liner brush. Can I just say my cat eye/winged liner turned out so much better with the angled and detail tip liner brushes! I was so excited, I thought I would fail miserably at my wings forever. BlendIt changed that for me.

Lisa has started a revolution in the make-up application industry! My opinion is that you need to at the very least check these out. http://blenditbeautybrush.com/ I can guarantee that once you try them you will be hooked too! Get Celebrity Perfect Make-up every time and become a BlendIt Beauty you will not regret it.

Miss Katheryn

Hello world!

Hi there everyone! I am very new to this blogging thing so it will take me a little bit to kind of get into the groove of things. Anyway as I have mentioned in my “About Me” section of my profile I am a make-up lover, addict, junkie, if you will. I want to take the time and use this blog as my own personal reviews with what works for me, my skin type, eye color, and hair color (which changes quite frequently). It may not be the same for some but for others it might be very similar. So being a mother of two small boys (who get into everything) i may not be posting everyday. However, I have included links to both my Instagram https://instagram.com/miss_katheryn24/ and YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw93RaK8m2nV5xba9obvfvg ( I haven’t found a lot of time for posting on YouTube either) but I always post my make-up looks everyday (for the most part) on Instagram so please follow along with me all of your support will be very deeply appreciated and I look forward to continuing on with this journey and goal I have set for myself with all of you.

Thanks for reading Beauties!!
